While much of this series was over my head (or maybe I should just say that it's all theory for me right now since I don't have a bunch of cans and dimmers to experiment with!), I have thoroughly enjoyed it. There are many parallels in what you do as a lighting designer and what I do as a music director in terms of the thought process that goes into it. Perhaps a better analogy would be what I do as an arranger or composer. Knowing the palette available and knowing how to use it is absolutely essential. Thanks for taking the time to write all this out, Lucas. I admire your work and have a much greater respect for you (and all lighting designers) after having read this series. It will be interesting to see if I start critiquing light designs in my mind now thinking, "Lucas said that was not a good idea." ;) hehe I’m a bit behind on reading here.
