I've come to realize that life is too short to do work I don't believe in with people I don't enjoy working with just for a (usually small) paycheck. And interestingly enough, I've found that when I say "no" to the shows I don't want my name associated with, and to the people who only stress me out, I have a lot more time to say "yes" to the projects I've always wanted to work on, and to the new friends and artistic soul-mates I've found while working on those projects. Which in turn, leads to more of the same exciting work with those exact awesome people. It makes life a lot more enjoyable. I just found this blog through Poor Player's rec, and I'm glad I did. The financial planning for freelancers series alone was very valuable. Happy New Year. -Cole This.
