A question for the Lighting Designers who read this

Have you ever used a Beam Projector as a conscious choice, beyond the “Hmmm . . . I’m out of lights. Oh look! Beam Projectors!!”?

    I mean as diagonal backlight in a musical with a lot of haze, sure, but not when all I want are some nice sidelight specials.

    That’s too funny.

    I’m just pleased that I stopped short of the desperation level of using scoops. You know you’re in trouble when those things start sounding like a good idea.

    You can get a very nice side wash using scoops!

    ….

    bah

    we had four at the Exit that got used in just about every show on the main stage… “maybe if I just use one more yard of black wrap I can shape it?”
